Mr. Siwawa is the founder and Managing Director of VPB, and is regarded as a pioneer in the field of private equity in the region. Prior to establishing VPB over fourteen years ago, he was involved in the consulting and financial management arena with Deloitte &Touche in Johannesburg, South Africa. With Deloitte, Mr. Siwawa participated in a wide variety of consulting mandates in industry sectors, which included real estate, financial services, forensics, and healthcare, among other areas. While at Deloitte, he was part of a team that established a $100 million US Government regional private equity fund. He later joined the fund and was involved in the conclusion of transactions in Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia and Angola. He brings corporate finance experience and has completed transactions in a number of areas, which include: telecommunications, where he was responsible for the first sizeable buy-in of the largest mobile operator in Botswana; financial services, where he was involved in acquisitive expansions for a major regional financial services group; real estate; supply chain management; and agri-processing.
Mr. Siwawa is a Computer Science graduate from Aston University Birmingham (UK) and a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA, UK). He has an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business (Booth). He serves as a director in numerous companies and was formerly a director of the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA) and the South African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA).
Mr. Kongoro serves as Namibia’s Managing Director. Prior to joining the VPB Group in 2016 he spent 28 years with BP Oil Africa in various capacities across a spectrum of African countries. He commenced his career as a management accountant and worked through the ranks in the company until he was based at BP Africa’s Head Office. He has served in Senior Management positions in Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Botswana and South Africa. Mr. Kongoro has served on different boards and has specialized in Financial Management, Marketing, General Management, Business Strategy and Corporate Finance.
Mr. Kongoro has a MBA and a BB and A Hons both from the University of Stellenbosch,South Africa. B.CommHonours, University of South Africa and B.Comm, University of Zululand
Mr. Mtonga serves as the Namibia office’s Director, Investment Services. He is responsible for managing the firm’s second fund, VPB Namibia Growth Fund. Prior to joining VPB Botswana in May 2006, Mr. Mtonga served as Manager, Advisory Services at Deloitte practices in Gaborone, Botswana, and Lusaka, Zambia. He has attended several training courses dedicated to the private equity industry through industry associations such as the EVCA, NVCA and SAVCA.
Mr. Mtonga is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Mathematics from the University of Zambia.
Ms. Letshwiti joined VPB as an Investment Analyst in 2005 and is the firm’s Investment Manager. Prior to joining VPB, she was employed with Deloitte, where she obtained experience in the audit and accounting industry. Ms. Letshwiti has served on the boards of several companies in an array of industries, including financial services, construction material supply, floriculture and a number of manufacturing concerns.
Ms. Letshwiti is a Chartered Certified Accountant (“ACCA”) and an Association of Accounting Technicians (“AAT”) graduate. She has also undergone industry specific training through courses organised by associations such as SAVCA and NVCA, and she is a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute.
Ms. Motshubi joined VPB in October 2008 and serves as an Investment Associate for the company. In her role, Ms. Motshubi performs due diligence on potential investments, monitors and evaluates the on-going performance of portfolio companies, and negotiates with potential acquirers of investments. She has eleven years private equity and transaction management experience at VPB, and she has been involved in the turnaround and management of some of the firm’s largest private equity investments.
Ms. Motshubi graduated in Economic Science, majoring in economics and mathematics, and she holds a Master of Commerce, each from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. She has also attended courses on private equity and venture capital, financial modeling and advanced valuation techniques. Ms. Motshubi has served on a number of boards in sectors as diverse as manufacturing, financial services, agri-processing, emergency medical services, aviation, IT, and radio communications.
In addition, She has exposure in various sectors of the Namibian economy including tourism and hospitality, healthcare and hospital groups.
Ms. Ngapurue is an Investment Analyst at the Namibia offices, having joined the firm in 2017. She has undertaken valuations and research on various companies in the financial services sector and has a strong numeric background.
She holds an Honours Degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management, as well as a B.Com in Economics and Finance both from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
